When I was a little boy, My Dad was sadly diagnosed with Early Onset Dementia, and at the same time, my Grandma was under full care for dementia. I learned a lot about dementia and helping care for those with dementia.
I noticed that all of my favorite toys as a toddler were also fun for my Dad and Grandma.
My brightly colored toys would bring such smiles and happiness to my Dad and Grandma.
I turned 10 years old last summer and I have been thinking of ways that I can make a difference and help others. I realized that sometimes a simple thing can make a big difference. So, I decided to create Ducks for Dementia with some help from my Mom.
I created Ducks for Dementia to honor my Dad and Grandma by bringing about awareness for dementia and giving a little joy to others. Making smiles one duck at a time.
